Score Board at the Mission Sports Park

  • The Scoreboard at the Sports Park was a Rotary project that I initiated during my term as president of the club.  Much effort went into fundraising and securing grants for this project.  Myself, alongside my hardworking team worked very closely with the City of Mission for the purchase and location of this.  Fundraising has the ability to connect people who have a passion about making a difference, with a cause they care about.   The Scoreboard at the Sports Park meant a lot to the kids and to the sports community of Mission.

MY House

  • A community initiative that emerged out of the Youth Homelessness Committee, MY House was built to create a one-point source of information and contact for youth in our community.  Rotary was very involved with the building and fundraising for the medical rooms and I was involved in all aspects of the build.

St. Joseph's Food Bank

  • I secured a $10,000 grant for the St. Joseph’s food bank build through the Rotary foundation, plus managed many fundraisers for this initiative, including the annual Mayor's Golf Tournament. I was a part of the team responsible for painting the exterior and interior of the new building. Along with my family, I have volunteered a lot over the years and I continue to do so for Thursday food hamper days, when the time allows.

Blessings in a Backpack

  • One in six kids struggles with access to food for the 65 hours they are not at school.  West Heights Elementary began The Blessing in Backpack food program, and for 3 years, I was pivotal in fundraising for kids that were vulnerable or at-risk youth.  My family and I would pack up the 25 bags of food each week and drop off to the school for the children

Rotary & Tyler Dental Artz Team

  • There are those of us who know life is much bigger than the boundaries of our beloved town. There are those exemplary individuals that hear about certain challenges and feel compelled to help.  In 2016, with the support and guidance of Tyler Dental Artz team. My international project for my year as Rotary president, was a Thailand dental mission. Our mission was to provide free dental care to those who had no way of reaching a dentist.

Mission's Candlelight Parade

  • The way you spend your leisure time can dramatically influence your happiness, focus and success, and I found myself spending more and more time giving back to the community. I threw myself in, wholeheartedly, and the Candlelight Parade was one of my absolute favourites.

Hope Central

  • I am a frequent volunteer at Hope Central ~ a not-for-profit, multi-denominational Christian society operating in Mission.  Our aim is to love unconditionally and are primarily focused on feeding and caring for the vulnerable and less fortunate in our community.  Having an opportunity to give back and make a difference in someone's life is a deed with immeasurable benefits to all parties involved.

BC Winter Games

  • I was Chair of Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the BC Winter Games, held in Mission.  The BC Winter Games are British Columbia’s biennial celebration of sport and community.  The purpose is “to provide an opportunity for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition in a multi-sport event which promotes interest and participation in sport and sporting activities, individual achievement and community development.”

Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce

  • I have been part of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for the past 3 years. Serving as the Chamber President, I was able to lead the Board and organization through the transition of Executive Directors.  I played an imperative role in the strategic planning and financial budgeting for the Chamber, as well as devoted my time to contribute as a Business Excellence Awards judge.

Sports Community

  • Manager of the Mission Midget Hockey team for 2 years.

  • Member of the Mission Minor Lacrosse Association.

  • Active Dance Mom for 5 years.

  • Mission Secondary Dry Grad Committee Member for both 2019 and 2021.
